2004 George Vintage II Hirsch Vineyard Block 4A Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

13.0% alc., Magnum. · Moderately dark reddish brown with a yellow rim. Aromas of pipe smoke and burnt tobacco. Much better on the palate with mid-weight flavors of root beer, cream soda, faded black cherry and a hint of oak spice and vanilla. Drinkable with a citric note on the quenching finish. This wine is past its prime for sure but was a uniquely enjoyable learning experience. Score: NR. Reviewed July 29, 2021
