2012 Gary Farrell Russian River Valley Selection Russian River Valley Chardonnay 13.5% alc., pH 3.9, TA 0.66, 6,902 cases, $35. Released May 2014. Sourced from multiple vineyards. Harvest Brix 22-23º. Whole cluster pressed, inoculated with Montrachet yeast. Aged 7 months in 35% new French oak barrels. · Light golden yellow color and clear in the glass. A little reduced upon opening. Aromas of lemon curd, mango, spice and oak improve over time in the glass. The easy drinking array of flavors including lemon, white peach, vanilla creme and nutty oak pick up intensity over time, and there is plenty of acidity to encourage enjoyment. Score: 87.
