2014 Sojourn Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.2% alc., pH 3.70, TA 0.56, 650 cases, $42. Clones 115 and 667 from Wohler Vineyard, Riddle Vineyard, Pratt Vineyard and a small amount of Reuling Vineyard. 100% de-stemmed, native yeast fermentation in open-top tanks, aged in 50% new French oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. Highly aromatic, with effusive scents of Bing cherry and spice. The discretely concentrated core of dark cherry fruit is accented with hints of black tea, tar and smoke. Sleek tannins and matched acidity make for easy drinking. A modest finish features bright cherry fruit. A solid value. Score: 89. Reviewed June 18, 2016
