2014 Black Kite Cellars Kite’s Rest Vineyard Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

14.9% alc., 1,254 cases, $50. Clones 114, 115 and Pommard. Aged 10 months in French oak barrels, 33% new. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Aromas of dark cherry and berry and spice with plenty of oak chiming in harmony. Well ripened mid plus style wine with flavors of black cherry, coffee and toast. Structured with a very appealing silky texture and not too warm. The mouthfeel is the best feature, but there is too much oak overlay for full enjoyment. Score: 89. Reviewed December 13, 2016
