1993 Ponzi Vineyards Luisa Ponzi's first vintage as winemaker. One of the featured wines in the inaugural Salud Oregon Wine Auction in 1993. A warm, dry vintage with a late harvest, rain not appearing until late October. The wine has a very slight brown-orange rim. Spice and leather on the nose which fades rather quickly. Initially the flavors of raisin, prune and root beer are very appealing but do diminish with time in the glass. Still has commendable acidity. Tasted November 7, 2008.
