2006 Claudia Springs Winery Klindt Reserve Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

14.7% alc, 223 cases, $35. Released May 2009. The six clones are picked and fermented separately. After aging for 8 months in barrel, an initial blend is made from these lots and returned to barrel for an additional 8-10 months. Aged in 40% new French oak barrels. Of the 32 barrels in the cellar, 9 were chose for the Reserve blend at the end of aging. · The nose is very pleasing showing cherries, cola, oak spice and a hint of alcohol. Tasty core of cherry and cranberry fruit with mild ripe tannins and good grip leading to a dry and refreshing finish. Reasonably priced and a good food wine. Reviewed May 26, 2009
