2002 Hamacher Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 13.0% alc., 1,500 cases, $40. Winemaker Eric Hamacher is a staunch believer in blending vineyards for his Pinot Noirs. The 2002 vintage was only recently released and I have tasted it twice. · The nose is pleasing with a perfume of dark red fruits and a hint of vanilla. Berry jam, cranberries and sour cherry dominate the fruit flavors. The finish is a bit rustic and the brisk acidity cries out for food. Reviewed August 28, 2006 Winery: Hamacher Wines
