2009 Small Vines Wines Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.2% alc., 386 cases, $50. · Moderately dark reddish-purple color in the glass. Deep aromas of cherries, jam on toast, and vanillin. On the palate, medium weight flavors of black cherries and cola are featured with a slight tarry, smoky accent. The tannins are nicely managed, the mid palate and finish offer pleasing intensity and the wine finishes dry and fruity. Good (+). Reviewed November 2, 2011
