2015 Siduri Hawk’s View Vineyard Willamette Valley Oregon Pinot Noir

14.3% alc., 295 cases, $50, screwcap. Released April 2017. A combination of grapes from ungrafted vines and newer Dijon clones on roots, all dry farmed. · Light ruby red color in the glass. A real charmer with seductive aromas of cherry, cranberry baking spices and earthy flora that hold up nicely over time in the glass. Juicy, forward and elegant, with a light to mid weight core of delicious Bing cherry, cola, red licorice and spice flavors. 2015 Manross Hawk’s View Vineyard Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., pH 3.66, TA 0.71, 50 cases, $58. NOTE that this is a wine made from Oregon grapes by a California vintner, Heather Manross. 50% Pommard and 50% Wadenswil clones. 20 to 26-year-old vines planted in Laurelwood soil. 30% whole cluster fermented. Aged 24 months in French oak barrels, 20% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. · Light ruby red color in the glass. Welcoming aromas of black cherry, mocha, clove and underbrush. A light to mid weight elegant style with tasteful spiced cherry flavor framed by complimentary oak and modest tannins. A savory herbal riff plies the background. 2014 Siduri Hawk’s View Vineyard Willamette Valley Oregon Pinot Noir

14.2% alc., pH 3.54, TA 0.60, 141 cases, $50, screwcap. Released October 16, 2016. This vineyard is located at the far northern end of the Chehalem Mountains AVA near the town of Sherwood. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Shy, but pleasant aromas of black cherry and purple berry fruits. Much more personality in the mouth, with an attention grabbing attack of black cherry and olalliberry fruit and a hint of savory herbs. 2012 Siduri Hawk’s View Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

14.1% alc., 235 cases, $42. Release June 2014. · Medium reddish purple hue in the glass. The most flamboyant and interesting nose of the Oregon offerings with aromas of black cherry, sassafras, forest floor and graham. Pleasing flavors of black cherry, black raspberry with good fullness and polish on the palate. Impressive persistence on the fruit-filled finish which leaves a modest amount of tannins in its wake. When tasted the following day from a previously opened and recorked bottle, this was clearly my favorite with the most memorable finish of the 2012 Oregon offerings. Will only improve in the cellar. 2010 Siduri Hawk’s View Vineyard Willamette Valley Oregon Pinot Noir

13.4% alc., 146 cases, $39, screw cap. · Moderate reddish-purple color in the glass. Intense aromas of black cherries and spice with a subtle floral note. Medium weight essence of black cherries lifted by bright acidity and framed by supple tannins. Very appealing riff of cherries on the pleasing finish. Easily approachable now. Very good.
